Many anglers avoid canals thinking they're all about tiny fish, delicate rigs and small baits. While this might be the case on some of them, there are many stretches, like the Clayhanger on Walsall's Daw End Canal -- a branch of the Wyrley and Essington - where this couldn't be further from the truth. On this canal you have to beef up your gear or face losing it.
