Carp angler lands monster bream
Bream frequently slip up to carp anglers, and most of the time they are considered a nuisance.
However, Brett Longthorne certainly wasn’t disappointed with this 14lb 3oz specimen! The personal-best fish is one of only 20-odd big bream in a tricky northern stillwater, where the average size is into double figures and only a handful of carp are present.
Brett was targeting these with 10mm 3ft Twitch Redemption boilies in a prebaited weedy corner, presenting them on a combi-link and size 10 hook.
It’s been a pb-breaking time for the 42-year-old, who’s also landed a personal-best carp of 34lb 2oz and his biggest-ever catfish at 59lb 4oz.
