Superb 3lb 7oz crucian carp taken by Duncan Charman

Specimen angler Duncan Charman struck gold on a recent session when he landed this cracking crucian carp of 3lb 7oz. The well-known angler was filming a new online video at the famous Marsh Farm Fisheries, Godalming, when he hooked the crucian carp, as he targeted the venue’s large specimens on the day-ticket Harris Lake.

The big crucian was the highlight of a haul of around a dozen fish, but the 45-year-old had to work hard for his catch.

“I altered between float and scaled-down bolt rig tactics to keep catching,” said Duncan.

“The biggest fish came just a few minutes before I was planning to pack up.” Duncan tempted all his fish using Sonubaits Supercrush Green groundbait with 6mm S-Pellets hair-rigged to a size 16 hook.
