Big Kennet barbel landed

The River Kennet has produced its biggest barbel of the season to date in the shape of this streamlined 14lb specimen caught by Harvey Taylor.

The Shinfield, Reading based angler used a large halibut pellet to tempt the specimen from an undisclosed stretch of the Berkshire river during a simple day session.

He used simple legering tactics, with a small PVA bag of freebies nicked onto the hook prior to casting out.
