Big bag of crucians wins Messingham match
The crucians fed in force during the latest event at Messingham Sands with winner Alan Gregory including 95 of the species in his winning 146lb haul.
With the large carp in Tripp Lake refusing to feed in any large numbers, the local ace decided to fish pole with pellet and paste tactics and managed to land a fish a chuck at times, with individual crucians to 2lb being placed on the weigh sling.
Several other ton up weights were also recorded in the match, with runner up Tommy Grice taking 111lb 12oz and third placed Paul Hewitt weighing in 104lb 3oz.
