Brice crowned Angling Trust Pike Champion

Peter Brice has been crowned this year’s Angling Trust Pike Champion after banking two fish for 35lb 12oz last weekend from Whittlesey's 20ft river.

Peter’s first run early in the match resulted in a 7lb-plus zander. However, his next two takes produced two double-figure pike to sardines offered on a straight ledger rig cast to the far bank.

Peter’s first fish was an impressive 19lb 14oz specimen and just 45 minutes later he put the net under his second pike of 15lb 14oz giving him a total weight of 35lb 12oz.

Colin Bartrum from Wisbech finished in runners-up position taking six fish for 28lb 13oz. Hot on his heels was third placed Robert Harden of Letchworth weighed in five fish for 28lb 4oz.
