Clegg announces England Vets team
The England veterans team that will travel to Italy for the 2011 World Angling Games has been announced – with no changes from the squad that came second in last year’s tournament.
International Events Manager, Dick Clegg, has picked Terry Lancaster, Don Slaymaker, Stan Binge, Roger Marlow and Dicky Carr, with Brian Gibson as assistant coach.
The event will take place on the River Arno in Florence – the venue where England’s full team claimed its first ever gold in 1985.
This year’s team, which finished second in Belgium in 2010, will be fishing for species which will include bleak, small catfish, carrasio and the odd bigger carp.
