Club angler smashes venue record at top commercial

The match record at a popular commercial complex has been smashed by an angler who has only visited it a handful of times.

Club angler Darren Denton made the trip to the Midlands complex with his club mates and managed to fill four keepnets with hard fighting carp after he decided to use a tactic that all his rivals shunned.

It turned out to be a masterstroke, with Darren hammering out at least 60 carp during the event, landing almost three times the amount of the runner up.

“It’s a tactic I’ve worked on over the years and it helped me smash the venue record there last year and I’ve gone and done it again this week. It was by far the best days fishing I’ve ever had and it’s all down to fishing in this manner” explained Darren.
