Furnace Lakes producing big catches of skimmer bream

Furnace Lakes in West Sussex is on fire despite the cold weather, with some bags of skimmer bream touching 80lb.

A recent Sunday event saw a top weight of 78lb 4oz to Geoff Kercher of Guildford Angling Centre, with Tony Corpes not far behind on 72lb 1oz. Both men fished the long pole and 4mm or 6mm expander pellets.

The following Wednesday saw 60lb needed for Daiwa Dorking’s Terry Harrison to win, with all the action centred on the Small Pond at the Horsham venue.
