Murphy takes £6,000 Shakespeare Champs on the Avon

Welsh international Andrew Murphy scooped the £6,000 top prize at the Shakespeare Championship on the River Avon at Evesham.

A super 13lb 11oz of small fish took the title for Andrew from peg 49 where he fished small baits over a dark groundbait mix at 13m. Close behind was Garbolino's Ian Didcote on 12lb 10oz and Lee Kerry (Preston) with 12lb 4oz.

The following day on the Abu Garcia Wychavon Championship, Jon Arthur triumphed after banking 8lb 4oz of quality roach to 1lb on bloodworm baits, while Monday's Match Fishing Team Champs saw victory for Daiwa Dorking and a top weight of 7lb 2oz 8dr to Chris Jenkinson of Maver Bait Tech.
