Under 14s seek funding

The Angling Trust are seeking funding to send an under 14 team to the 2012 world championships.

Last week England youth manager Steve Sanders held an international training day for young anglers at Gold Valley Lakes, Hampshire.

Level 2 coach and tutor Rob Perkins helped out on the day and was very impressed with the young talent he saw.

“The youngsters fished for three hours to international rules on a venue they had never seen before. They did a fantastic job and returned some brilliant catches,” said Rob.

“They all learnt a vast amount about what it is like to fish at the highest level. I just hope we can find the funding to carry on with their training and be able to send them to the 2012 world championships.”
