River Welland gets major cleanup

One of the nation’s best free fishing hotspots has been given a facelift by the Environment Agency, with four skip-loads of rubbish being removed from the venue.

Officials from the government body descended upon the River Welland in Spalding to dispose of the trash beneath the surface of the Lincolnshire waterway and were shocked at their findings.

The nearby Coronation Channel also received similar treatment during the operation, with tyres, traffic cones, a bed and even a motorcycle amongst the items.
