Trout waters hit top form

Two of the UK’s largest trout fishing reservoirs have hit top form and are producing some of their biggest fish so far this season.

David Hoppe from Stoke-on-Trent boated this impressive 9lb 3oz rainbow trout from an area known as ‘Valley Creek ‘ while fishing a ‘black buzzer’ during a session at the hugely popular Grafham Water in Huntingdonshire.

It was more of a story of quantity for Paul Shaw at Rutland Water, which is also controlled by Anglian Water, as he won the recent Dave Hodgson Memorial Trophy with an eight-fish total for an impressive combined weight of 28lb 15oz.
