EA rod licence blitz results revealed
The Environment Agency have revealed that a rod licence blitz staged over the Easter weekend ended with just over six per cent of those checked unable to produce the necessary paperwork.
Bailiffs from the government body made spot checks at venues across four counties including Cambridgeshire and Norfolk and managed to confront over 450 fishermen.
While the vast majority of them were playing by the rules, 28 were breaking the law, with half of these in Essex.
On the flip side of the coin, no evaders were found in Northamptonshire.
