Twenty three anglers attended this Sunday qualifier, again hosted on the Arena lake. Conditions on the day were an improvement on Saturday with anglers enjoying brief sunny periods in between scattered showers.

Winner on the day was Peter Goulding (Woody's), who drew peg 11. Fishing pole and pellet at 13m, Peter finished the match with a superb 111-14-00, winning by a comfortable margin.

Second on the day was Brian Jones (Maver). Brian drew peg 13 and also opted to fish pole and pellet, weighing in a fantastic 95-01-00.

Richard Aherne (Awa-Shima) finished in third place from peg 42 with 94-08-00 of carp caught on pop-up bread fished on the bomb. Richard books his place in the Classic final in May.

Maver's Mark Johnson finished in fourth place on the day with 77-14-00 from peg 40 fishing a method feeder at approximately 30m.

Some of the UK's best known angling celebrities are set to attend The British Carp and Angling Show which takes place at the Royal Norfolk Showground, Norwich on January 19 and 20, 2013.

After the outstanding success of the first event in 2012 which attracted over 10,000 visitors, the 2013 event is expected to be twice as big and attract more than 20,000 visitors - which will make it one of the biggest shows not only in the UK but also in Europe.

The show will offer an array of attractions from product launches by well-known companies to the opportunity to meet some of angling's best known celebrities and experts who will be on hand to give advice and demonstrations as well as take part in promotions, book signings and 'Question and Answer' sessions. The show will also be filled with top manufactures, casting demonstrations, fly and sea fishing zones and a catering area stocked with a bar. With Trade Stands there will be plenty of products at bargain prices and lots of special offers including discounted bait from some of the industry's leading manufacturers including popular brands such as Ace Baits, Baitzone and Sticky Baits. All will be happy to discuss how their baits are made and how best to use them.

Amongst the angling celebrities at the show will be Matt Hayes signing his new book as well as carrying out talks and seminars in the Theatre Hall. Last year Matt was unveiling his new clothing range and addressing an enormous audience with talks about ‘What it’s like to be Matt Hayes’ which explored his youth and career.

John Wilson's Rigging Clinic Need some advice on rigging? Join John Wilson in the Rigging Clinic as he advises young anglers on the best techniques and methods for float fishing, setting up a rig and much more in this interactive and fun workshop John is an infamous angler who's featured in many TV angling shows DVDs and videos over the past 20 years. As a local Norfolk fisherman, John is a great household name in the area with a huge fan-base and following. Bob Nudd who is a well-known name in the coarse angling world being the 4 x Coarse Angling World Champion and. Bob will be available to meet and greet over the weekend of the show.

Socialise with other anglers at the bar! The show will be packed with anglers from all over the region – from carp and coarse fishing, to sea and fly fishing! Why not take a seat in the bar area and share a pint whilst telling tales of your latest catches. You can even enjoy a bacon sandwich when you arrive at the show before picking up your bargains! If you fancy a bite to eat, there is a on-site catering area with a choice of food.
