11lb 4oz bream ends three biteless seasons

Three seasons without a bite on a tough Midlands water would have broken most anglers – but not Steve Pearson, whose determination was finally rewarded with this 11lb 4oz bream.

The County Durham-based angler had failed to register so much as a bleep on his alarms during a number of sessions at the venue in recent years.

But he finally received the take he’d been hoping for on his latest trip when the large slab picked up his 10mm critically-balanced boilie which he had tipped with a piece of flavoured rubber maize and fished in conjunction with a Method feeder.
