39lb mirror on floater fishing session

This cracking 39lb 4oz mirror was the highlight of Ian Davis’ short floater fishing session on the Main Lake at Fryerning Fisheries in Essex.

It only took the local 24-year-old chip shop manager an hour and a half to hook into the chunky specimen known as 4Scale after he constantly fed dog biscuits soaked in Urban Baits Nutcracker Oil and offered a 12mm Nut Cracker pop-up among the freebies.

“I’d only popped down for a couple of hours floater fishing, so to catch a new pb mirror was a right result,” said Ian, who beat his prize with a 4ft, 12lb Fox Zig+Floater hooklink and a size 10 Arma Point SSBP hook.
