Huge River Trent chub to start the river season
Arriving on the banks of the River Trent several hours before the start of the season to secure a fancied swim paid off for Lee Swords as he went on to land this personal best 7lb 4oz chub.
Having done his homework, the Sheffield-based all-rounder headed to a spot that he was convinced held some big fish and introduced over 4kg of Hook Bait Company pellets and paste.
On the stroke of midnight he flicked out a leger rig baited with a Red Arctic boilie wrapped in paste and his preparation was soon rewarded with a double figure barbel.
Four others up to 13lb 7oz were netted before the standout specimen of the session appeared.
“The chub obliterates my pb of 6lb 12oz and I am truly elated to have finally joined the seven pounder’s club!” said Lee.
