Margins Are Starting To Produce At Woodland View

With match weights exceeding 100lb Woodland View is currently offering some of the best fishing in the region for both match and pleasure anglers.

The Preston Innovations sponsored High Pool is producing the more notable catches with the warmer conditions bringing the fish shallow and in the margins to feed.
The 35 peg lake is the deepest of the waters on the complex, and holds the biggest fish with carp to over 25lb and some double-figure barbel but massive silver fish catches can also be taken on short pole and caster. However, targeting the carp will provide you with the biggest bags and this should be done by fishing the pole at around 14m with pellets, feeding small amounts constantly and trying up in the water if required.

If you are after a big mixed bag then try Arles Pool (40 pegs) as this water is almost certainly worth a visit. Carp to 20lb are present, although plenty of good stamp tench, crucians, orfe, chub and barbel are also residing to give added variety. A number of tactics will score well, although fishing up in the water can take some beating once the weather warms further.

If you are on the pole, start at around 12 metres out and keep pinging 6mm pellets in. Use a banded pellet as bait and keep slapping the rig in to attract the interest of any passing fish. The pellet waggler is also deadly and can also account for some huge hauls. Regular casting is essential when using this tactic.
