New personal best 16lb bream from Nene Valley
Carp anglers often regard bream as a ‘nuisance species’ – but not Martyn Fisher as he altered his approach after spotting some slabs in his swim and struck gold with this new pb of 16lb.
He was targeting the carp in a Nene Valley syndicate water when he spotted a few big bream in the margins, so he decided to introduce 10kg of hemp, corn, pellets and a kilo of boilies over an area at 40yds range and fished a boilie tipped with a piece of corn over the top.
Early the next morning a drop-back bite resulted in the capture of the specimen that more than doubled his previous best for the species.
