Three trips to Warwickshire Avon results in two new personal bests
In three trips to the Warwickshire Avon Barry Peck has managed to break both his barbel and chub personal best.
After years of trying to catch a 5lb-plus chub from the waterway he finally achieved his target and beat his pb for the species with a 5lb 5oz specimen.
He said: “I caught four chub of 4lb 15oz last season and was beginning to think I’d never get a five.”
His next evening session then resulted in a cracking barbel of 11lb 1oz. “This has been my best start to a river season and I hope it continues. Both fish fell to dumbbell boilies on 3ft fluorocarbon and braid combi-rigs with size 12 Drennan Super Specialist Barbel hooks,” he added.
