Massive stingray caught on film

Viewers of a popular angling TV show are in for a treat after what’s believed to be the World’s biggest ever freshwater stingray weighing over 800lb was landed during filming.

Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin is a major hit on American broadcaster ABC and the crew were left in awe after the monster that  boasted a collosal wingspan of over 2.4 metres, was taken  from Thailand’s Mae Klong river.

The fish took two hours to beat under the watchful eye of professional guides from Fishsiam before a number of samples were taken for scientific analysis. It was then released safely back to the waterway.

Experts believe the fish is 40 years old and has been landed several years ago during the same programme to find out more about the species.
