Ton-up charity match win

This 29lb 2oz mirror carp helped Stewart Corbiere to victory in a charity match at Hunstrete Main Lake near Bristol.

The local angler had another mirror of 27lb 8oz, plus a 20lb 2oz common and two doubles, for a total weight of 111lb 4oz in the 24-hour competition. All his fish fell to surface-fished dog biscuits.

The biggest carp of the match went to Martin Norgan, who landed a fish of 32lb 7oz.

Overall, 28 carp were caught, with an average weight of 22lb. The Bathampton AA event raised £100 for the club’s chosen charity, CLIC Sargent.
