Smiddy wins tight league by one point

This league couldn’t have been closer when it came to the final reckoning as anglers discarded their worst result of the six matches.
Winning by just a single point, with 53, was Maver NW man Dave Smiddy, with Johnny Maddison the man to miss out by that narrow margin, although he was, in turn, a point ahead of Tony Watson.
The final-round honours went to Cleveland Angling matchman
Sammy Rambow with 39-11-0 of roach and skimmers on polefished pellet and maggot at Skylark Lake peg 15.
Roach and skimmers also made up the 37-4-0 of runner-up
Peter Close, who fished maggot and caster long from Kestrel Lake peg 23.
