Stillwater champs dates are revealed
Now an established fixture on the UK match calendar, dates for the Canals & Rivers Trust/Angling Trust Stillwater Championships have been released.
They take in five qualifying rounds, topped off by the Grand Final at Boddington Reservoir in early August, with a projected £6,000 prize pot to be fished for.
It’s a quick-fire event too, with qualifiers beginning on Saturday, June 11, ending in the final on August 7, much earlier than normal, with Boddington replacing Blythe Waters, which has hosted the last few finals.
Come August, the fishing at Boddington should be at its peak.
From each 50-peg qualifier, the top two angler in each section go through with an entry fee per qualifier of £25, everyone taking part having to be individual members of the Angling Trust.
Entry applications go live to apply via the Angling Trust from Monday, February 15, 2016, and to find out more about the Stillwater Championships go to the website: www.anglingtrust.net
“This match has proved really popular in previous years, and is now an established fixture offering a great opportunity to pit your wits against some of the nation’s top anglers at some of our best fisheries,” said National Fisheries & Angling Manager
for the Canals & Rivers Trust John Ellis.
David Kent, chair of competitions for the Angling Trust, agrees.
“We always listen to what the anglers say each year and introduce refinements which will hopefully ensure the contest’s popularity,” said David.
