New Daiwa TDM 3012 reel
Mark Sawyer - Angling Times' cheif tackle tester - took the brand new Daiwa TDM 3012 match fishing reel to the banks of the River Nene to test it out.
Targeting the river's chub population with a bread feeder Mark thoroughly put this new breed of match fishing reels through its paces to see how it performs.
The new range comprises five different sizes. This includes a 4000 sized reel that is ideal for heavy feeder and powerful float tactics, such as the Method feeder and bagging waggler.
Mark opted to test the smaller 3012 model, which boasts High Impact Line Clip, six ball bearings plus one roller bearing, Digigear, Airbail and a spare spool.
The gear ratio of this model is a powerful 4.7:1.
The handle is a one-touch folding design having an 'I' shaped knob on the double handled 2508 and 4012 models, and a 'T' shaped knob on the single-handled 4012 model.
RRP is £150, while a spare spool costs £30.
