A short after-work session led to the capture of this shock 27lb 2oz pike for Jon Burton.
Targeting the Birmingham & Worcester Canal at Alvechurch in the company of his 10-year-old daughter Elle-Mai, Jon fished small lures on light gear in search of the venue’s pike and perch when the big fish hit.
The specimen fell to a small Relax Kopyto 5ins shad from UK Lures, and was released safely back into the canal after weighing.
