A SEVEN-hour wait finally came to an end for John Keeley when he landed this 16lb 3oz zander from the tidal River Trent.
Targeting an isolated area, the Wakefield angler tempted the predator on a skimmer deadbait.
John said: “I had never had a double-figure zander before, despite trying for a couple of winters, and I have had a poor season on the river fishing for other species like barbel. This zed more than makes up for it.”
