Maggot fools prime 1lb dace
There aren’t many anglers who can boast of the capture of a dace over the 1lb mark but Roman Vann is one of them now!
He was fishing a southern chalk stream when he netted the specimen (above) that took a feederfished maggot hookbait.
The specialist from the New Forest also banked another fish just over the 1lb mark that were all beaten with a size 16 hook.
“Fishing upstream with a big bow in the line helps convert finicky bites in to hook-ups,” said a delighted Roman.
