15lb 6oz River Severn barbel

This is the picture of a huge barbel from the River Severn weighing 15lb 6oz.

It was caught by Birmingham’s Mark Mole when he targeted a stretch of the lower river.

In order to avoid the attentions of the resident bream, the specialist fished a 26 mm boilie during a short evening session.

The barbel provided the only bite of his visit.
