Have your say on cormorant control
THERE is still time to participate in a public consultation which could see stricter control of cormorants and other fish-eating birds.
The in-depth survey has been created by the government’s Department for the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (Defra) who are reviewing the country’s current general licence for bird control.
To fill out the consultation please visit www.consult.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-management/wild-birds-general-licence-survey/
Your views and evidence are needed to help decide how general licences for wild birds should be used to kill or take wild birds to conserve certain criteria – including fisheries and inland waters.
The consultation will close on Thursday 5 December 2019.
