Bristol Avon barbel record smashed!

CATCHING a river record during the final week of the river season is virtually unheard of, but it happened to David Herrin when he visited the Bristol Avon in Wiltshire.

This 17lb 5oz specimen barbel couldn’t resist David’s boilie offering, which was legered under an overhanging tree well into darkness.

David told us:

“When the Barbel Society told me it was a new Bristol Avon record, I was speechless to say the least.”
