“It was a cold and blustery day on a stretch of the Thames where bites were hard to come by, so I was shocked when I hooked this perch. 

It came up to the surface and rolled in the nearside weeds before diving deep again – giving me a proper heart-stopping moment!

After a few more jagged lunges it was finally safe in my net. I also managed two more perch at 3lb and 3oz on big lobworms.”
