Kings Weir barbel record smashed!
THE barbel record on the Kings Weir stretch of the River Lea was smashed to pieces when Stephane Van Langenberg slipped his net under this 17lb 3oz specimen.
The 32-year-old hit the jackpot shortly after he baited a deep swim with groundbait and mixed particles using a bait dropper.
Stephane told us:
“An entire monologue would be required to explain the fight I got from this fish. My legs were shaking like jelly for the entirety!”
