Apart from hemp and sweetcorn, which other particles are worth using? And are there any that make good hookbaits?

Scott Lloyd:

It’s hard to beat those particles, but if the rules allow I’d have tiger nuts in my mix too.

Carp love their sweet, crunchy texture and as a hookbait, they can appear far more ‘safe’ in a carp’s view because of their natural look.

I like to balance them out by plugging them with a bit of foam to act as a wafter, especially if I’ve included them in my loosefeed mix.

They really are a devastating bait, especially when the going gets tough and the fish are far more cautious of standard baits like boilies.
