Why do some carp get caught regularly whereas others in a lake can go ages in between captures? Do they feed differently or do some just feed on natural food sources?
MYLES GIBSON:
It boils down to a number of factors really and I have come across this for as long as I can remember. Some fish feed very differently to others and this is the main reason. Other fish prefer a certain lakebed to feed over too. For example, I have known fish to just get caught over the gravel. If everyone fishes the silt, this carp isn’t going to get caught.
Bait is another factor. I have known certain fish to love a boilie, which in turn, means they get caught quite a bit. Other times a nut is the only thing that will get a bite, but the one you are after might not like them. It is certainly true that some fish get caught more than others, to identify a factual reason though, is very hard.
