Five doubles taken from Raventhorpe Reservoir in a week

A super rainbow of 12lb 2oz has been taken at Raventhorpe Reservoir – one of five fish over 10lb reported in a single week.

The huge rainbow was taken by season ticket holder Fabien Lepine, of Northampton, who fished a floating line and a Buzzer from the dam.

The week’s other doubles were 11lb 9oz for Bob Aves, 11lb 8oz for Graham Smith and also for Mike Osgood, and one of 10lb-plus to Roy French.

Generally, best methods have been floating or slow sinking lines with black and green lures, Minkies, goldhead Damsels, Buzzers or small nymphs.
