Tiger nut hookbait in the margins produces 35lb mirror carp
Dave Magalhaes has been enjoying a good run of form on CEMEX Angling’s Road Lake of late, with this 35lb mirror known as the Pretty One the latest fish to grace his net.
The 30-year-old Gerry’s of Wimbledon employee caught the stunning specimen from a marginal spot in just 3ft of water which he has been regularly baiting.
He said: “The fight was pretty hectic as the fish was constantly trying to power into a big set of lily pads.”
Dave’s winning presentation consisted of a balanced tiger nut tipped with a piece of maize on a 25lb Atomic Tackle Bare-Bak Jel-E-Wyre hooklink and a size 6 Grabba hook with a 4oz drop-off inline lead.
