10lb 10oz River Goyt barbel tops six fish haul

FISHING conditions on the nation’s rivers have been far from perfect of late but this didn’t deter Jerry Gleeson who landed this 10lb 10oz specimen as part of a six-fish haul.

Targeting a stretch of his local River Goyt, the angler from Stockport targeted a slack area and primed his swim with four bait-droppers full of hemp and small pellets.

Over the top of this he flicked a simple running leger rig and used a 14mm 3B boilie from The Hook Bait Company on a braided hooklink that was finished off with a size 10 hook.
