Match abandoned due to bomb scare
A group of matchmen were left dumbfounded when they had to abandon a club fishing match due to a bomb scare.
Members of Marston FTB Angling Club, who were fishing on the River Cherwell at University Parks in Oxford, were moved by police officers because they were within 200m of the exclusion zone which had to be evacuated for safety reasons.
The club made the decision to end the match with two hours remaining, declaring the winner as Steve Tomkins, who was the only angler who had caught.
