Sheltered swim comes up trumps
AN AREA off the back of the wind proved to be the killing zone for Jed Kent who caught this cracking 31lb mirror during a session on a tricky syndicate water.
The Norfolk-based Nash consultant had a feeling the fish would be sheltering from the freezing cold easterly which had been blowing across the lake for the last few days.
He said: “Although the temperature was minus 1, it actually felt quite mild once I was out of the wind. I got the rods out by late afternoon and the next morning my left hand rod was away. After a 15 minute scrap I landed a 31lb 6oz linear and the following morning I backed it up with a 15lb mirror.”
Both fish were taken on rigs tied with size 6 Nash Fang Twister hooks and a new chod material on test in conjunction with a Monster Squid pop-up.
