Move pays off with 10lb 9oz tench

Staying mobile proved to be the key to success for Dai Gribble who topped an impressive haul of tench with this 10lb 9oz specimen.

He began his session on St Johns Lake, which is part of the popular Linear Fisheries in Oxfordshire, but after setting up all of his gear and making one cast, the Korum-backed specialist moved onto the complex’s Hardwick Lake, which produced tench to 9lb.

But still unconvinced he was in the right area he moved to the other side of the lake, which proved to be a master stroke as his hair-rigged worms fished in conjunction with a helicopter rig and a feeder filled with Sonubaits pellets and chopped worms tempted several more fish over 9lb and the 10lb 9oz specimen.
