Linear tench triumph
An early-season tench fishing session proved successful for Matt Perring when he slipped the net under nine fish, topped by this 8lb 12oz specimen.
The Marukyu-sponsored angler had an inkling the tench would be on the feed with the arrival of warmer weather and headed to Oxfordshire’s Linear Fisheries.
There Matt targeted a gravel bar 45 yards out, fishing a worm hookbait over a bed of hemp and casters doused in Marukyu Amino Plus flavouring.
Matt’s catch, taken on a helicopter feeder rig, also included tench of 8lb 4oz and 7lb 1oz, as well as three others over 6lb.
