Scot’s 36lb 8oz pike a fitting end to season
Alec Stark finished the pike fishing season in style with the capture of this 36lb 8oz specimen.
The Lanarkshire angler boated it during a Pike Anglers Club meet on Lake of Mentieth in Stirling.
It sets a new pb for the Scotsman, who tempted it from 15ft of water on a floatfished mackerel deadbait.
He said: “I knew it was big as soon as I started to play it and I struggled to get it to the surface let alone on the boat.
“Thankfully my boat partner Barry Gillien helped me lift it out of the water before releasing it.”
