Fox Edges PVA Bag Rigs

The perfect length for use with solid PVA bags, these rigs are made with Fox’s ultra-sharp Arma Point SSBP and SSBP (barbless) hooks. Each pack of two incorporates the very supple Edges Reflex Hooklength braid, one in Light Camo and one in Dark Camo. Edges Trans Khaki Micro Line Alignas go over the eye of the hook to ensure it turns quickly into the fish’s mouth. A short length of Trans Khaki Hook Silicon is used on the hook shank to trap the hair in place, with a Trans Khaki Micro Anti Tangle Sleeve completing the set-up.

Hook sizes are again matched to line breaking strains, and can be attached to the swivel of an Edges Ready-tied Leader via a loop-to-loop connection.

Fox Edges Micro Line Aligna

This is a more refined version of the Fox Edges Trans Khaki Line Aligna Adaptors, for anglers that wish to fish scaled-down presentations. They completely eliminate the need for shrink tube, and their aggressive hooking angle is ideal for turning the hook over when hair-rigging. They come in two sizes, fitting hooks from 10-7 and 6-2. Ten per packet.

Drennan Carp 1 and Carp 2 Pole Floats

Drennan's latest Carp 1 and Carp 2 pole floats to their ranges are built with strength in mind, and the high grade balsa bodies will take a good loading of shot.

An ultra-tough acrylic paint finish all but does away with the likelihood of the mainline cutting into the float’s body, and black stainless spring eyes won’t pinch the line when it’s under tension.
A securely bonded carbon stem and hollow plastic Glow Tip with strengthening spigot add still more to the durability of these floats. The Carp 1 is of a slim, body-down oval shape with a medium length 1.5mm diameter hollow tip. The Carp 2’s thicker 1.7mm tip allows you to drag some line along the bottom, and is banded to help with bite detection. Eight sizes from 0.1g up to 1.0g are available with red-black-yellow or yellow-black-yellow banded tips.

Maver Match This Keepnets

This eye-catching pair of Maver Match This commercial keepnets have bright green solid sack top sections with ‘carp’ and ‘silverfish’ printed on them.

The 3m-long nets are made from fish-friendly polyester micro-mesh, have strong alloy ‘pull through’ rings with handles, plastic fixing points and locking multi-tilt top rings.

Nash R3 Receiver

The Nash R3 Receiver precisely replicates the R3 alarm’s Intelligent Sensing – as well as offering bleep-for-bleep tone reproduction even in difficult swims or around obstacles.

It works at distances of 400m or more from the rods, so you can be sure the radio signal between your alarms and the remote won’t be compromised.

There’s a four-channel, one-touch pairing with R3 alarm heads plus a clever additional fifth channel to programme in your mate’s alarms, which is very handy if you always fish together.

As you’d expect, there are adjustable volume, vibration and mute functions, and a four colour lens option pack allows the receiver to be customised to match any LED colour on the alarm heads. The receiver is powered by one CR123A 3V battery.

An anti-theft warning alarm, a very useful feature in these wicked times, tops off an impressively high list of specifications.

The high-impact soft touch case has waterproof gasket seals to maximise waterproofing.

Nash Siren R3 Bite Alarm

Having spent the past couple of weekends attending packed angling shows, and seeing the crowds flocking around the Nash stand, there is little doubt in my mind that the latest Nash Siren R3 bite alarm system is going to sell like crazy.

The alarms themselves have integral rubberised snag ears and feature ‘Intelligent Sensing’ microchip technology to eliminate false indications while giving you an insight into what’s actually happening in your swim.

To keep the technical jargon to a minimum, this sensing system is based around changes of speed in the movement of the line. You’ll suffer no more irritating bleeps from wind, undertow, weed and variable currents when fishing in running water or lakes with a heavy tow.

Best of all, there won’t be any nagging doubts over the those unexplained single bleeps that have dogged all carp anglers ever since electronic bite alarms came on the scene.

The R3 has an extreme working range of more than 400m, and while I would never encourage anyone to leave their rods unattended, or indeed be anywhere near that distance away from them, the strength of thee radio signal can be critical when the rods are not in a clear line of sight, or surrounded by dense foliage.

Maver S4 Z Frame Seatbox Black & White

Maver has added this stunning looking black and white seatbox to its Z Frame range. It looks quite different to any other box you’ll see on the bank, but the distinctive frame and four-leg configuration combine to produce a rock-solid and frighteningly strong parking space for your bum that will survive years of being lugged about in sheds, garages and the backs of vans.
Made from ultra-light aircraft grade aluminium, the box features a European-patented four-leg system remains stable even when you stand up. It’s all down to a no-nonsense design and top grade materials coupled with quality Continental engineering.

Now available in four colours – Maver green, mango, orange, black or white – this is a box that will get you noticed, and without the middle set of legs that you’d find on a conventional box you’re left with room to swing your legs around when fishing down the edge on commercial waters.

Levelling is achieved via handwheels that lock into place with non-slip compression blocks. Built-in spirit levels will let you know once the box is dead level.

The Z Frame is also equipped with unobtrusive half legs for attaching trays and arms, plus a sliding non-slip cassette footplate, 30mm round legs, pivoting locking mudfeet and a pole-style gel seat. Beneath this is a winder tray, and that brings us nicely to one of the main considerations when buying a seatbox – storage.

Three set-ups are on offer with the Z Frame – a twin front and single cross drawer, double cross drawer or twin front drawer and double winder tray. To this you can add from the massive range of separate S4 trays.

To finish, a sliding module sat on runners beneath the main top unit has a single 50mm tray, to which more can be added.

The Z Frame comes complete with accessories worth over £150, including a pole spraybar, side tray, umbrella arm and short keepnet arm.

Drennan Acolyte Landing Net Handle

The new 4m Drennan Acolyte landing net handle was developed and thoroughly tested by five-times World Champion Alan Scotthorne. It is super-stiff, slim and very strong.

The second of the three take-apart sections is also threaded, so it can be used at 2.6m (top two sections) or 2.8m (bottom two sections) for those that favour a shorter and even stiffer handle. The brass threads are pinned for added strength and reliability, while an EVA nose cone on the third section adds a nice finishing touch.

Frenzee Smartcut

The Frenzee Smartcut gives a sharp, straight and splinter-free cut when you need to trim back your pole’s top kit to fit a PTFE bush. Simply slide the tip firmly into the plastic clamp, then slowly cut through the carbon with the file provided. The Smartcut comes in large (5.2mm, black), medium (4.2mm, red) and small (3.2mm, green) sizes, and comes with three Frenzee internal PTFE bushes.

Cygnet Multi Pod

This serious bit of kit makes fishing in demanding conditions simple. It’s perhaps a bit overgunned for commercial British day-ticket waters, but is perfect for French trips or when tackling larger rivers.

This pod can point your rods skywards and keep line away from snags or treacherous undertows. It comes in a very smart carry case and everything you need, bar back rests, alarms and indicators, is included.

The buzzer bars rotate with ease, meaning roller buzzers won’t jam against the blank no matter what angle you have your rods at. We set it up at a small British water, but don’t be fooled – those legs can be massively extended to allow your rods to be fished almost vertically, ideal for extreme range on the Continent.

JRC Extreme 3D TX Sleeping Bag

Matrix Evolution Method Feeders

The original Matrix Evolution Method Feeders were designed to save match anglers valuable time. They had quick-change line slots and removable tail-rubbers to make changing feeders a doddle – all that was missing was a smaller version.

Thankfully, that vacancy has now been filled, as Matrix has now extended its Evolution feeder range in weights of 17g, 23g, 30g and 40g, with moulds for each.

Price: Feeder £1.99, Mould £3.99
