How to catch silverfish at Castle Ashby
Matchman Kevin Folwell has banked an incredible 645 silverfish in his last two matches at Castle Ashby, amounting to a total of 123lb.
His winning approach centres around targeting the roach, rudd and perch which have moved close to the margins of the Northampton venue's Grendon Pond to spawn, shunning the standard tactic adopted by many of casting a feeder at the bream or carp stocks.
By fishing his pole shallow and close in, he has compiled brilliant catches of 68lb 6oz and 55lb, with his biggest fish weighing a mere 10oz.
Typically the Drennan GOT Baits angler manages to net an astonishing 70 fish an hour, especially when there is a ripple on the water.
