How to use indicators correctly when deadbaiting
Legered deadbaits to catch pike require a certain style of bite registration to ensure that the angler spots the take - of course - and also is sensitive enough to provide the pike a free run of line so it doesn't feel any resistance and drop the bait.
Using bite alarms is by far the most popular method, coupled with two different styles of indicator - a drop-back or drop-off indicator, and a lightweight bobbin-style indicator.
Both are equally effective, as Jan Porter explains in this new and exclusive video filmed on the banks of a vast stillwater while he tackles the lake's pike stocks.
