In this video he details the KD, or the Separation rig, which Rich has used in confidence and with fantastic results.
It's certainly a rig with a difference in that the hair is remarkably long, providing a large separation between the pop-up bait and the hook, and this, in turn, produces a greater chance of the hook hitting home.
We met up with Rich on the banks of his own fishery, Airfield Lakes, to find out more.

In this video he details the Claw Rig - one of Rich's favourite and most reliable rigs for using on any new venue.
It's a very aggressive rig, in terms of the hook flipping over and hitting home - so if you want to almost guarantee that the fish that's taken your bait is landed, this might well be the rig to use!
As you will see after watching the video below, this rig is best fished with a semi-bouyant bait, presented just off the bottom.

How to tie and fish deep water with a slider float
Floatfishing is far more interesting than feeder fishing because you're watching a float in the water as opposed to the tip of your rod.
But when you're faced with a very deep venue, often the only option is to use a feeder rig, but not if you know how to create and fish with a slider float rig.
The Improve Your Coarse Fishing team met up with Iain Swanson aboard a boat on Llangorse - a vast lake in south Wales, to find out how he float fishes this deep water for the venue's multitude of roach, bream and hybrids.
Iain goes into great detail about the rig, showing how it's created, the right floats to use and how to ensure the bait is pushed to the bottom with enough force to ensure the rig works correctly.
