30-year wait for PB barbel
A 30-year wait to break his personal best finally ended for Keith Barnett when he slipped the net under this 13lb 6oz barbel.
The 64-year-old Rowley Regis angler’s unforgettable moment came during a daytime session on a Birmingham Anglers Association-run stretch of the Warwickshire Avon, where he tempted the prized specimen on a 14mm Sonubaits spicy pellet.
Keith fished with a 3ft fluoro hooklink, light lead and a PVA bag of smaller pellets.
