Monster 5lb 1oz eel from Furnace Mill
Dudley-based Scott Reynolds spotted the accidental capture of a 7lb eel by a matchman on social media, so he headed to Worcestershire’s Furnace Mill Fishery to see if he could catch one by design – and this 5lb 1oz beauty, a personal best, was the result.
The 25-year-old chose a swim on the complex’s Furnace Pool, where he made up a JS leger rig with 15lb mainline, 35lb wire trace and a size 6 Drennan Super Specialist hook holding a roach deadbait.
